The Assistant Manager – Shipping & Logistics will sit within our Shipping & Logistics team.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION
- Work effectively with suppliers and clients to plan product consignment pick-up schedules and ensure on-time delivery to the markets.
- Coordinate and communicate proactively with internal and external logistics contacts, cross-company counterparts, and suppliers as needed to ensure a consistent and efficient flow of transportation and logistics management.
- Identify shipment exceptions, coordinate timely problem resolution, and ensure corrective actions are taken when issues occur.
- Manage and validate the completeness and accuracy of shipping documents, including specific market requirements, product HTS codes, import regulations, and client requirements for shipment and import activities.
- Manage vendors’ fulfilment of purchase orders and process client billing through the ERP system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Report and analyse shipping data and activities to support continuous improvement of the shipping management function.
- Review existing shipping processes and reports, participate in process streamlining initiatives, and develop standard operating procedures.
- Onboard new suppliers to TMS shipping procedures and train suppliers on any procedure changes or updates
- Support the line manager and leadership team with research and analysis on import/export requirements for ongoing business needs.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE
- A bachelor’s degree in logistics, international trade, or supply chain is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in shipping and logistics, with global touchpoint experience. Two years of supervisory experience or team management experience would be an advantage.
- Ownership mindset with the ability to proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and independently drive execution in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to drive results through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
