ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager to support our Compliance & Quality Assurance team in the toy and merchandise industry. The role will ensure that our products meet all safety, regulatory, and quality standards while supporting risk mitigation, supplier compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. This ideal candidate will have a strong background in toy or related industries, quality control processes. He/she involves collaborating with suppliers, internal teams, and third-party labs to maintain compliance while driving continuous improvement in product safety and quality.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
    • Oversee pre-production, in-process, and final product inspections to ensure product safety and quality. Conduct quality risk assessment of new products to eliminate quality defects in advance.
    • Develop and maintain Quality Control (QC) checklists, inspection protocols, and testing guidelines. Investigate product quality issues, defects, or compliance failures and implement corrective actions.
  1. Supplier & Factory Collaboration:
    • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure adherence to compliance and quality requirements. (Such as SCHR and GRC).
    • Train suppliers on Global compliance, testing requirements, and quality expectations.
    • Fully maximize and develop supplier capabilities and technical specialists that deliver results effectively. Engage with and influence suppliers for effective delivery.
  1. Testing & Certification Coordination:
    • Review and approve lab test reports (chemical, physical, mechanical, flammability, etc.) from accredited third-party labs.
    • Ensure proper sample quality review, test tracking, and report validation.
  2. Cross-functional Support:
    • Partner with internal teams (e.g., Sourcing, PMO) on safety and quality best practices.
    • Develop and maintain products specifications.
    • Assist in handling some customer complaints.

 

  • SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering/quality management or equivalent
  • 5+ year in compliance/quality assurance working experience, preferably in Toy or Merchandise industry. Having working experience in a professional third-party laboratory is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Basic English skill to meet working requirement.
  • Analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to have the awareness of quality risk management in advance.
