WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE
The Global PD & Innovation Manager will support all TMS customers across all the regions globally in regards to the development of sustainable and commercially appropriate packaging solutions.
Through partnership with our Category Innovation, Regional PD, Quality and Sourcing teams, this role is responsible for leading the validation from Concept through to Supplier development for all new product strategies around Sustainable Packaging Innovations, Cost Optimisation & Commercialisation with a strong focus on fibre based packaging and technologies.
In this role, the individual works on the overall product roadmap for each packaging solution or innovation and align on the key actions needed to deliver the desired category & business outcomes. This will include Supplier development with Regional PD, Quality & Sourcing teams & driving the early-stage development of the solution through in-market testing.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION
We are looking for someone to Globally lead the development, alignment, and execution of specific product solutions and roadmaps in support of overall category needs for the Packaging categories. Example of products are: fiber cups, clamshells/cartons, wraps, carry-out bags, etc…
- Execute strategic reviews per calendar and processes, supporting tendering, that yield desired product-line outcomes (e.g. savings, innovation, etc…)
- Own the following related to the specific product area:
- Value chain mapping
- Product capability for scale-up & expansion
- Product capacity and contingency readiness
- Balance of innovation led through consumer insight, sustainability strategy, risk management and product cost
- Multi-year roadmaps for product shifts, cost shifts, capacity shifts
- Partner with Category Innovation in the execution of specific product solutions and roadmaps
- Provides direction to regional PD teams & Commercial teams in driving Sustainable Solutions & Strategies
- Setting technical standards & requirements for regional PD teams to adopt and comply and support teams through commercialization
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering (packaging, material science, paper science, chemical, or mechanical, polymer science preferred)
- 7+ Years of experience in packaging technology, Innovation and/or business/packaging strategy development
- Experience in Foods, FMCG or Packaging manufacturing industry or Packaging Consulting
- Ability to connect abstract thoughts and ideas and materialize into an actionable long-term packaging strategy
- Experience in Foods, QSR, FMCG or Packaging manufacturing / converting industry
- Knowledge of packaging forms, coatings & conversion processes
- Excellent communication & facilitation skills
- Project Management & timeline development
- Strong analytical capabilities & Strong critical thinking capabilities
- Highly collaborative & directional
- Influencing skills
