ABOUT THE ROLE 

 

As an Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for providing specialist Employee Relations expertise as well as leading case management of disciplinary, grievance, performance management, and absence management processes. Your role will involve working in partnership with HR colleagues to review employment contracts, policies, and associated processes, making recommendations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·       Deliver consistent and professional services in areas such as disciplinary, grievance, performance management, sickness absence, TUPE transfers, ensuring compliance with policies and legislative requirements

·       Manage a complex case load from initiation to resolution

·       Conduct thorough and confidential investigations of HR concerns and provide sound conclusions and recommendations

·       Provide expert advice to managers on disciplinary actions, policy interpretation, and employment practices

·       Oversee consultations and negotiations, ensuring compliance with legal requirements

·       Facilitate conflict resolution / mediation

·       Support colleagues and line managers through family-friendly policies such as maternity leave, shared parental leave, and flexible working requests

·       Collaborate with People Partners to develop plans and agree on reasonable adjustments to support the individual needs of employees

·       In partnership with HR colleagues, review, develop and implement people policies that align with the company's values, promote a positive working culture, and are compliant with local laws and regulations

·       Build partnerships with business leaders, People Partners and tms Compliance team to develop and sustain positive employee relations practices 

·       Deliver training (e.g. policy application, employment practices, new regulations) to improve People Partners’ and leader’s effectiveness

·       Deliver ER data insights and trends

·       Assess and analyse people practices to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE 

 

And we’d love you to…  

 

·       Demonstrable experience in managing complex and sensitive employee relations cases

·       In-depth knowledge of employment laws and regulation in the UK 

·       Experience in conflict resolution / mediation

·       Strong investigative skills

·       Strong risk assessment and management skills

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·       Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

·       Solid attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and confidential records

·       Excellent stakeholder management 

·       Ability to analyse data, identify trends and provide data insights 

·       Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with tact and discretion

·       Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software

 

Any of the following would be a plus 

 

·       Qualifications in HR, Employment Law, or related field

·       Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations in Germany and France

·       Coaching and training skills

·       Experience in policy development
