We are evolving to drive agility and assure a future-proof resilient supply chain as we continue to operate in a volatile and uncertain landscape.   This important role will act as the SME in the functional area of Global Logistics & Trade Compliance supporting a larger cross functional team in the analysis, assessment and implementation of new lines of sourcing and supply for our business.

 

Key responsibilities

  • As part of a cross-functional strategic sourcing project team, provide Subject Matter Expertise in Logistics operations & Trade regulations to support a holistic assessment & recommendation around new lines of supply. 
  • Develop required Logistics & import/export cost, risk & lead time elements for new sourcing locations & identified delivery markets. Provide recommendations including risk call outs to support a go / no-go decision.
  • Create implementation plans & requirements to support Logistics operational teams to enable an effective go-live for new lines of supply.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including third-party Logistics Providers, Legal professionals, and other cross-functional SMEs both domestically and internationally to support the success of these new line of supply assessments. 

Required skills and knowledge

  • Educational Level:  Bachelor’s Degree required preferably in Business, supply chain, logistics; but will consider other degrees with applicable logistics or trade compliance industry experience.
  • Work Experience:  10+ years’ experience working in or cross-functional exposure to the following areas.
    • Product Development, Manufacturing, or Production of product that is sourced internationally and shipped to worldwide destination points.
    • Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution:   A strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations including Ocean Freight, and other modes of transport, coordination of pricing & execution of international shipments.  Working experience with or as a 3PL, Carrier or Shipper / Manufacturer or Importer is preferred.
    • Trade Compliance:  Knowledge of Incoterms, international trade regulations, customs procedures, trade agreements & restrictions and how trade impacts international sourcing & supply chain risk assessment & decision making in the sourcing process. 
    • Industry certifications (European customs/logistics certification is a plus).

 

  • Analytical skills: Ability to synthesize large amounts of information to develop a Risk Point of view, recommendation & implementation plan for Logistics & Trade requirements in the Sourcing of new global manufacturing locations. 
  • Organizational & Time Management Skills:  Experience working on time-sensitive, global & cross functional projects is a plus.
  • Interpersonal skills: Strong communication, time management, critical thinking and relationship-building skills to navigate cross-cultural interactions and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving: Ability to provide solutions for potential issues and adapt to a constantly changing global market.
  • Language: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
