WHY WE BELIEVE YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE

We continue to evolve to become more agile and to build a future‑ready and resilient supply chain while operating in a volatile and uncertain environment. This critical position serves as a subject matter expert in Global Logistics & Trade Compliance and supports a larger cross‑functional team in analyzing, evaluating, and implementing new sourcing and supply routes for our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • This role includes strategic oversight of compliance, master data management, and regulatory reporting across EU Customs (UCC), VAT frameworks, the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), CBAM, and the Single‑Use Plastics Levy (DIVID/EWKFondsG). It ensures robust data integrity by defining standards for product, supplier, and transaction data—including classifications, origin, quantities, and sustainability‑related attributes—while facilitating alignment across functions. The position leads compliance monitoring and internal control structures, guides stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement to ensure reliable submissions and company‑wide regulatory compliance.
  • As part of a cross‑functional strategic sourcing project team, you contribute your expertise in logistics processes and trade regulations to support comprehensive assessments and recommendations for new supply routes.
  • You develop required logistics and import/export costs, risks, and lead times for new sourcing locations and identified supply markets. You provide recommendations, including risk assessments, to enable decision‑making regarding next steps.
  • You create implementation plans and requirements to support operational logistics teams with the successful launch of new supply routes.
  • You work closely with key stakeholders, including logistics service providers, legal teams, and other cross‑functional subject matter experts domestically and internationally, to ensure the success of these new route evaluations.

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Logistics. Other degrees combined with relevant experience in logistics, customs, trade certification, or trade compliance will also be considered.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in the following areas or across relevant industries:
    • Logistics, Warehousing & Distribution: Comprehensive understanding of the end‑to‑end supply chain, including ocean freight and other transportation modes, as well as pricing coordination and international shipment execution. Experience with or as a 3PL provider, freight forwarder, shipper, manufacturer, or importer is beneficial.
    • Trade Compliance: Knowledge of Incoterms, international trade regulations, customs procedures, trade agreements and restrictions, as well as their impact on international sourcing, supply chain risk assessments, and procurement decision‑making. Familiarity with European regulatory measures (e.g., CBAM, EUDR, EWK) is required.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large volumes of information and derive risk assessments, recommendations, and implementation plans for logistics and trade requirements when evaluating new global production locations.
  • Organizational & Time‑Management Skills: Experience working in fast‑paced, global, and cross‑functional projects is an advantage.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, time‑management, analytical, and relationship‑building capabilities to successfully navigate intercultural interactions and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem‑Solving Skills: Ability to develop solutions for potential issues and adapt to a constantly changing global market.
  • Languages: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
