Today, we’re looking at growing and strengthening our creative roster with a talented, conceptual creative Copywriter. As Copywriter, you’ll play a crucial role within our creative team — delivering exceptional creative solutions, crafting copy and words that motivate and inspire people across our entire portfolio of client work.
Digging a little deeper…
We’re looking for a passionate, creative problem solver. To us, the Copywriter should have a knack for understanding consumer behaviors, cultural trends, and technology (people use every day) and how to best reach them where they are.
When briefed, the Copywriter should have a partner mentality, working and collaborating closely with an Art Director or Designer in delivering compelling creative solutions.
We’re looking for a “What-if” thinker. The Copywriter shouldn’t be held back by convention or norm but can push and think beyond the expected. The Copywriter should be eager to win awards as well as industry recognition for our team.
And lastly, we’re looking for a Copywriter with a proven ability to confidently share and articulate their ideas to the team while providing insights and human truths that back up the work.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ORGANIZATION
- Be part of creative kick-offs — concept and contribute with a wide-range of ideas alongside the Art Director and the broader creative team
- Interpret and interrogate briefs — creating work that wows and is strategically driven and compelling, not just “cool.”
- Follow direction from senior creatives while providing a strong rationale behind their work
- Write compelling headlines, copy and content for a diverse range of work and clients including promotions, sweepstakes, weekly offers, banners, social content, video, etc.
- Keep a pulse on who’s doing what when it comes to break-through work in the marketing and advertising space (outside our agency) while inspiring others around them.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of our client’s business, their tone of voice and familiarity of how to write for their products and/or brands
- Manage weekly calendar of content alongside the Design Operation team
- Work collaboratively with an Art Director and the broader design team
- Attend weekly meetings, scrums and daily stand-ups
- Help with writing content for presentation materials for client work and creative share-outs
- Proofing copy while providing a stringent eye to work and execution
- Contributes to the culture of our team by supporting internal programs, initiatives and creative huddles
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE
- 2-4 years as a Copywriter in an agency or brand space.
- Background in promotions, digital games, brand marketing, social and loyalty programs
- Strong conceptual abilities — able to generate and come up with thought-provoking ideas.
- Great collaboration and team skills
- Killer portfolio with examples of projects that back up your creative thinking.
- Exceptional writing skills (ability to write in multiple voices, captivating headlines and fluid, engaging copy)
- Knowledge of multiple digital platforms (from social platforms to loyalty apps, to promotional sites)
- Program proficiencies: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft PowerPoint
Starting salary between $70,000.00 – $80,000.00
