Starting Salary: $69,000.00 - $80,000.00

WHAT YOU WILL DO  

  • The Associate Packaging Specialist will sit within our North America Pacakging Development  team.  
  • Support packaging development initiatives in-line with the needs and expectations identified by tms managers and customers. Identify innovative solutions with attention toward benefit, sustainability, risk, and cost. 

  • Execute projects through development and commercialization of packaging, communicating progress with tms managers and teams and ensuring customer requirements are met. 

  • Coordinate or conduct packaging testing, including testing at customer facilities (such as test kitchens), in-store testing, and with outside labs, to validate performance attributes. 

  • Collaborate with suppliers, internal cross-functional teams, and various customer departments (including Operations, Menu Innovation, Supply Chain, and Marketing) to further define customer expectations and deliver packaging solutions that meet all requirements. 

  • Leverage base technical competencies in packaging science, including knowledge of substrates, structural design, and analytical thinking in your approach to development. 

  • Develop and maintain knowledge of critical consumer and operational issues as well as key packaging technologies relevant to tms customers’ packaging. 

  • Build your technology skillset through developing technology awareness and working with a breadth of materials and processes. 

  • Develop and maintain appropriate packaging specifications within the designated specification system. 

  • Desire to learn, listen, question, and continuously improve upon your competencies and knowledge base. 

 

Job Requirements 

ABOUT YOU 

  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in packaging development & engineering 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering (packaging, material science, paper science, chemical, or mechanical, polymer science preferred) 

  • Experience in the foodservice, food, consumer goods, or packaging material supply industries   

  • Analytical approach to problem-solving and decision making 

  • Strong communication and presentation skills 

  • Customer relationship management experience 

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams 

  • Strong organization and project management skills 

 

Starting Salary: $69,000.00 - $80,000.00 CAN
