WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE
This role will work primarily with the Corporate Finance team with exposure to a wide range of functions including budgeting and forecast activities, collections and payments, account fluctuation analysis, and local tax requirement compliance. In addition, this role will be responsible for the monthly and annual accounting requirements for multiple holding entities and will have opportunities to contribute to multiple accounting system conversion projects planned over the next 24 months.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Prepare budgets and forecasts for Corporate entities by gathering data, validating inputs, and supporting variance analysis.
- Support the consolidation and analysis of forecast and budget data across business units.
Accounting & Reconciliations
- Contribute to month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Help manage intercompany reconciliations and confirm balances with business units.
Payments & Transactions
- Process vendor payments for assigned entities, including vendor vetting and documentation.
- Serve as a back-up for payment processing and collections for select entities.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports for multiple entities.
- Assist with audit requests and year-end schedules, including trial balance reviews and gift card tracking.
- Calculate and submit monthly Chicago Lease tax payments in compliance with local regulations.
- Help coordinate the Year End operating lease process and review of BU operating lease templates
Systems & Tools
- Participate in testing and validating data for new General Ledger (GL) tools and financial systems.
- Ensure monthly currency conversion rates are accurately reflected in financial systems.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Projects
- Collaborate with global finance and business teams to support intercompany variance analysis and remediation.
- Assist in compiling quarterly charitable contribution data and reviewing operating lease templates.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and other tasks as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE WOULD LIKE YOU TO HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Progress toward CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, or corporate finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas); experience with PowerPoint and Word.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle HFM, Oracle EPM, JD Edwards, MS Solomon) and financial reporting tools is preferred.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Understanding of GAAP and basic financial principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a changing environment.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
Starting salary between $75,000 - $85,000
